Compatible Substrates & Surface Preparation

For the best results, surface preparation is key. Before applying Master Pro X-Tech tile adhesive, ensure all substrates are fully cured, structurally sound, clean, and completely free of dust, oil, wax, and curing compounds. It is officially compatible with:

• Fully cured concrete and cementitious screeds
• Standard cement render
• Fibre-cement sheet and plasterboard (for wall applications)
• Compressed fibre-cement sheet (for floor applications)
• SAS liquid-applied waterproofing membranes
• Existing ceramic tiles (internal dry areas only, requires mechanical roughening or dedicated primer)
• Ceramic Tile Underlay over particleboard or plywood (internal dry areas)

Mixing and General Application Guidelines

To achieve the perfect mastic-like consistency, slowly add the 20kg bag of powder to clean, cool water while mechanically mixing. Mix until a lump-free, smooth paste is formed. Allow the mixture to rest for a few minutes before briefly remixing. Apply the adhesive using an appropriately sized notched trowel to ensure 100% coverage on the back of the tile, especially in wet areas or when laying large format tiles. Clean up any excess adhesive with a damp sponge before the material sets.

Storage and Shelf Life

To preserve the integrity of the product, store unopened bags of adhesive in a cool, dry, and elevated location, protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. When stored correctly, the product maintains a stable shelf life.
